When I was running my 733 mHz G4, I found 10.4 a little logy. Finale
2006 was particularly slow in this combination, especially with large
scores, though 2007 was quite a bit zippier (probably more native
code or something.) It wasn't anything that would have made me avoid
it, though.
There might be minimum system requirements. These requirements should
be clearly posted in the specs about 10.4, so check to be sure.
I suggest the "archive and install" feature when you upgrade, so that
you can remove it easily if you don't like it for any reason.
