I had a similar problem, though not related to condensed scores. I started out with a score of a certain length, then added measures. The playback would always stop at the original stop point. I fixed it by selecting all, then removing all MIDI data (in Fin2008 it means selecting with the new selection tool, then "Clear selected items" from the Edit menu, then choosing to remove just the MIDI data.
