that's not a fair comment, it depends if the person asking has
experience with 1/4 tones and knows what the standards are. amongst
those who have experience with (seeing or playing) 1/4 tone accis, this
is certainly the most widely recognized notation for them.
Of course it's a fair comment -- it's not universally
recognized.
What you're saying is that people who know what it means
will recognize what it means. That's fine, even if a bit
redundant, but it's hardly universal. :-)
