That IS a tough tune! I've heard many singers massacre it.
The problem is, it ISN'T a tune. It's a recitative (to take this
thread back where it started)!!!!
The Soliloquy in "Carousel" (which we've never done) goes in and out
of recit. too, and that takes a good actor AND a good musician. So
does "If I Were A Rich Man," and I've heard that massacred, too.
