Yes, Sibelius used to be able to import finale files directly, but that was gone after version 3 (or was it 4?) when Finale stopped with its enigma file transfer capability. Sibelius' capability was based on the publicly released file format info for the enigma files. But once Finale abandoned that, there was no way for Sibelius to decode the Finale file format. And even back then, importing Finale files was not very good. MusicXML has always worked better. Of course, we could always petition MakeMusic to release the file format for Finale data files. ;-) -- David H.
