well, I knew this would "controversial" :-) and being a jazz pianist/ 
composer/arranger/producer I like my altered chords
as much as any other. But for this particular tune, I feel/think it's  
wrong. There's a sheer simplistic beauty in the original chords.
CMaj7 | F/G | Em7 | A7(b9) that I like to preserve.
