I read the FAQ and it seemed to indicate that you can download your data as a csv file so you could then import it into whatever spreadsheet or database program you want.
The trick is to know when it's going out of business so you can download the most recent complete data, and that doesn't always happen. Sometimes you go to a web-site and it's simply gone without a warning. That plus the charge they will eventually institute, although the FAQ says that those who join for free at the beginning will be able to continue using it for free forever. They do say something like to the effect of it being a 'flat fee based on the number of items in your catalog.' That doesn't exactly sound like a flat fee, unless it's something like fifty-cents per title per year. But then that will become quite expensive for a group with a thousand-title catalog. Even at 10-cents a title it will costly. And they gave no specific idea as to what that flat fee might eventually be. Also as with all EULA, that "users who start using it for free will be able to use it for free forever" can change mighty quickly, especially when the site designers figure out that the only reason everybody's joining is because it's for free. What will they do when nobody joins after they start charging a fee? There are too many unknowns and too many potentialities for "gotcha" kinds of surprises to interest me. David H.
