The percussion map will not be saved automatically -- it is a library
which *can* be saved under the File/Save Library option. Just be sure
to check the box for Percussion Layout.

Once the percussion library has been saved, it can then be loaded into
whatever document we want, including the Default Document which we then
need to save immediately as a template. Once any library is opened in a
template and then the template is saved as a template, all the libraries
which were opened are available any time we use that template for future
projects.

So it would be possible to save essentially the same template under
different names with different percussion libraries loaded in each.

But it's important to remember that no libraries are saved automatically
by Finale - we have to manually save whichever libraries we want to move
from one document to another.
