[Fink-beginners] KDE 3 crashes in rootless mode

Hi!

My setup is X 10.2.2 and the very latest fink version, updated (by compiling) almost every day through selfupdate-cvs.

I initially installed fink on Jaguar following the bootstrap procedure, and everything went fine.

I compiled bundle-kde-ssl, and everything is in working order, unless that I try to run Xdarwin in rootless mode. Then the application "unexpectedly quits". This has happened ever since I installed KDE 3. The "quitting" occurs when KDE 3 gets to the 5th "ball" in the booting process.

Just in case, I have KDE's packages versions ranging from to 3.0.7-1 to 3.0.7-5 (3.0.7-6 for bundle-kde-ssl).

And of course, I have KDE configured so that it does not show its icons on the desktop.

What can I try to fix this?
