Follow-up to my last question about difficulties reinstalling tex. In fact, it seems that now I can't install anything new: I tried to select and install a few more packages with dselect; when I ran Install, I got the message that there were no new packages to install (even though some new ones were marked), and then asked
Do you want to erase any previously downloaded .deb files [Y/n] No matter which answer I gave, it would exit Install mode immediately. The dev tools are current (downloaded just a few days ago).
