[Fink-beginners] Re: scrollkeeper problems ...

Well, I have control-center installed, at last...

To do it I downgraded scrollkeeper to the version I had previously, scrollkeeper (0.2-7).
First I removed the new scrollkeeper

dpkg -r --ignore-depends=scrollkeeper scrollkeeper

.. then installed the old one...

fink install scrollkeeper-0.2

I then tried to install control-center. This promptly demanded to re-install the newest scrollkeeper, which then seg faulted and crashed (as usual).

So I tried running scrollkeeper-update at the command line, as Kurt had recommended. The result was a crash...

mcrc13-58> sudo scrollkeeper-update
Updating /sw/share/omf/control-center/control-center-eu.omf
Segmentation fault

Trying again it worked (please explain this..). I could then install control-center.

I then became happy -- briefly.

Moving right along I "fink selfupdate"d and "fink update-all"ed. And got a scrollkeeper crash, this time installing gnome-games.

Trying "sudo scrollkeeper-update" over and over yielded the following...

Segmentation fault
mcrc13-64> sudo scrollkeeper-update
Updating /sw/share/omf/gnome-games/aisleriot-it.omf
Segmentation fault
mcrc13-65> sudo scrollkeeper-update
Updating /sw/share/omf/gnome-games/gataxx-C.omf
Segmentation fault
mcrc13-66> sudo scrollkeeper-update
Updating /sw/share/omf/gnome-games/gataxx-es.omf
Segmentation fault
mcrc13-67> sudo scrollkeeper-update
Updating /sw/share/omf/gnome-games/gataxx-eu.omf
Segmentation fault
mcrc13-68> sudo scrollkeeper-update
Updating /sw/share/omf/gnome-games/gataxx-it.omf
Segmentation fault
....etc....

I assume, since the files causing a crash change with each iteration, that eventually this will all end....

But there has to be a fix for this: PLEASE!
