[Fink-beginners] total newbie Q

how do you start gnome? I installed 'DevTools Dec2002', then 'fink selfupdate-cvs' and 'fink update-all' then 'fink install bundle-gnome'. All A ok. But if I launch XDarwin and type 'gnome-session' or 'gnome-wm' in xterm it says:

[nilsmac:~] nilscrompton% gnome-wm

[nilsmac:~] nilscrompton%

or..

[nilsmac:~] nilscrompton% gnome-session

esd: Esound sound daemon already running or stale UNIX socket
/tmp/.esd/socket
This socket already exists indicating esd is already running.

or as su:

[nilsmac:~] nilscrompton% sudo gnome-session
