I would like to copy my fink files to take over to my sister's house,
and install things there. I think that copying the entire /sw
directory is overkill, and copying /src would require hours of
compiling.
I tried copying /sw/fink/10.2/ and /sw/fink/debs/ from my Desktop
computer to my Laptop, but fink still wanted to grab about half of the
binaries from the web. Before installing, FinkCommander listed _some_
files as "archived", and those were easy to reinstall.
What is the best way to archive the already compiled files and let
fink know that they are ready-to-go?

Unfortunately what is little recognized is that the most worthwhile
scientific books are those in which the author clearly indicates what
he does not know; for an author most hurts his readers by concealing
difficulties.
