Okay,
I downloaded and installed the SDK, updated my Apple
X11, ran apt-get update cvs and installed
system-xfree86.
Then I did a sudo apt-get install gimp
But when I try to run it, I get an error to the affect
that Gimp is not supported by my C libraries.
I thought apt-get would include all necessary libs.
When I tried to run fink selfupdate-cvs I did get an
error that indicated I had not C compiler, which
mystifies me becuae I have the Apple dev tools
installed.
I searched the Fink packages for a C compiler and
could find nothing.
I think I'm getting to close to getting this all up
and running but I keep running into little glitches.
I really no unix expert, with only a year of Linux use
under my belt.
I have kmahjongg loading as I write.
If that works, I'll assume Gimp's problem is isolated
to the Gimp and/or a C compiler issue and that the
rest of this is functional.
