I'm a newbie, but I'm thinking your answer may lie here: http://fink.sourceforge.net/doc/users-guide/install.php#setup
Also, I wonder why your rsync is in the 10.2/unstable/ area when my system is in:'rsync://master.us.finkmirrors.net/finkinfo/10.2-gcc3.3/stable/crypto/finkinfo'

Thanks for replying Robert.
So I installed the 3.3 update tonight. I have run a fink selfupdate and a fink index and another fink selfupdate, but the rsync output seems to say that I'm still not using the gcc 3.3 tree (rsync://master.us.finkmirrors.net/finkinfo/10.2/unstable/crypto/finkinfo for example).
After installing gcc3.3 did you
sudo gcc_select 3.3
before: fink selfupdate-rsync
I had not tried it, but I just did and it said "You are already using gcc version 3.3 as the default compiler." and selfupdate-rsync still says it's looking for "/sw/fink/10.2/stable/main/" (among other paths).
