I'm a newbie, but I'm thinking your answer may lie here:

thanks, but that's not the path I need to fix. If that were my problem, when I typed "fink selfupdate" bash (my shell of choice) would say "bash: fink: command not found".


Also, I wonder why your rsync is in the 10.2/unstable/ area when my system is in:'rsync://master.us.finkmirrors.net/finkinfo/10.2-gcc3.3/stable/ crypto/finkinfo'

This is what I'm trying to figure out how to change - it should be the same as yours, but it's not. :)
