What is the current recommendation for updating/installing packages with dependencies on XFree86 when Apples X11 is already installed? I previously had XFree86 v.4.3.? installed on my machine with 10.2.8-gcc3.3. Now that I have updated to 10.3, I removed the prior X11 install as recommended and then went on to install Apple's X11, SDK, etc. My X11 runs just fine, and now I am in the process of updating all the builds to 10.3. However, a number of these updates still require XFree86 or -shlibs in the depenency listings. Currently, I'm holding off on updating those items. Should I be and what is the current advice on this?

There is no package in the 10.3 tree that has a dependency on xfree86 only. There are two or three that have a versioned dependency on system-xfree86. If this does not work when you have Apple's X11, the X11 SDK, and the latest version of fink installed, it is a bug and should be chased down and exterminated.
