Tobias is not the only one with this bug.  I've been
riping my hair out with it also.  A clean install of
OS X 10.3.1 patched with the latest and greatest from
Apple and the Apple ver. of X11 installed.

Last night Fink tried to install a new X11 again while
reporting that my system-xfree86 was current. During
dependancy checking it did not see my system-xfree86
nor offer to in stall it as a choice to satisfy the
dependancy. I down loaded  Fink two nights ago and
patched from CVS yesterday morning.
