I don't understand, because html-parser-pm is installed.
I moved the latest html-parser-pm from the unstable branch to /local/finkinfo to install the newest version, but fink pretends there's no new package to install.

The html-parser-pm package is a kind of empty package that pulls in one of the perl-version-specific packages html-parser-pmxyz. In your case, xyz=581, IIRC. Do you have, perhaps from an earlier life, html-parser-pm560 or something similar installed? If this is the case, remove it and install html-parser-pm581 instead. Same advice for any other *-pm560 package that might be around.

BTW, I am now getting an error code 1 when I "fink selfupdate" with the following error message:
cvs update: move away 10.2-gcc3.3/stable/main/finkinfo/database/mysql-3.23.58-11.info; it is in the way

It doesn't seem to harm, but I'd like to get rid of it. I guess I can't just remove mysql-3.23.58-11.info. What should I do?

You can. Actually, you can remove any of the *.info and *.patch files, they will come back with the next selfupdate if they are still relevant.
