I am using fink-commander on my powerbook, and when I try to install a
package from source (I am not sure about binary install), I have the
problem of it wanting to compile xfree86 every time (and subsequently it
tells me if I don't want it, that's okay, but that comes after the
compile). Now, I wouldn't care so much if this didn't take such an
incredibly long time (I think it takes at least two hours). The packages
for which this has been happening are eterm and one other which I can't
remember right now, but which was also rather small. It is rather
frustrating to have to wait 2-3 hours for the simplest of packages, just
because of something silly. Is this something I can circumvent somehow, or
do I have to live with it trying to compile xfree86 each time I want to
compile a package?

Thank you,
Kevin Callanan
