I've run "fink scanpackages" and "fink configure" and searched the faq
and the archives for the list and I really really suspect it's a
stupid configuration thing, but I can't figure it out. By the way, my
setup is computer -> router -> DSL and I've tried "fink configure"
both with no proxy settings and with the router's address as a proxy.
I made sure that "Use passive ftp mode" is switched on in the network
tab.
So, given that I promise that I've endlessly searched the
documentation and tried everything that I think should work, would
someone kindly tell me what totally obvious thing I'm doing wrong?
Admittedly the HTTP error number is different, but

addresses a similar problem.
It's not on your end, in any case.
