Seems you invited in some even more dubious folk :-) Continuing my remarks to your earlier message: Mixing Fink packages with self-installed packages in /usr/local is a sure recipe for disaster. Fink is a package manager. This means that it needs to control rather precisely the prerequisites for the packages it installs. For this to work, it needs a system in which, with a few well-controlled exceptions, only the pristine system as provided by Apple plus its own Fink packages are present and interacting. There is no way to make it work reliably with all the 3rd-party junk one may dump into /usr/local (or /Library, for that matter). [] > Now, I'm a localizer. I don't breathe without gettext. If you want a more up-to-date gettext package working together with Fink, your best bet is to create an updated gettext Fink package. Answering your further questions would be more or less tantamount to explaining how to create such a gettext0.15 package. -- Martin ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
