I think upgrading Xcode to 3.0 may be cause of the problem, for two 
reasons: Upgrading Apple's developer tools without removing the previous 
version has often caused problems, because some old files may stay 
behind and interfere with the new ones. Ans secondly, in this case 
"upgrading" to xcode-3.0 meant actually *downgrading* some parts of the 
X11 installation from the 10.5.2+2.14 version to the 10.5.0 version.

In any case, it would be interesting to see the full output of 
"fink-virtual-pkgs --debug".
