That's no good alternative, I think, i.e. including a binary. Need to 
think about it.

Tell me, is there really *no tool at all* in Darwin that allows one 
to fetch files from http:// URLS from the command line? That's a real 
lack, esp. considering there are plenty OSS solutions available which 
they could have shipped with the OS.

If there is any tool on Darwin that does this, we could make use of it.
