Hello,

Thank you Alexander for the suggestion. I did just try that method and the result is shown below. Suspecting the line indicating that 1 package would be removed, with a savings of 4KB, I did a "fink list -i gnome" that showed about 50 packages remaining with bundle-gnome nowhere to be found. So I did successfully remove bundle-gnome, but gnome remains.

I would think that given what appears to be a large push to bring gnome to OS X and fink, some of the developers/porters would have addressed this! Any other suggestions?

Hello list,

I have been using fink for a few years and have been very happy with the tools provided. I installed bundle-gnome to try it out and have decided that for now, I'd rather remove it from my fink installation. The problem is I cannot figure out how to do so without removing each individual package! I've been looking at the list archives, FAQs, Documentation, etc. and cannot find an answer.

How can I uninstall all of the gnome packages that are so easy to install with bundle-gnome?

Thanks.

That's an excellent question. You can use "sudo apt-get remove <package>" to remove <package> and all of its dependencies, but I'm not sure if there's a package that they all depend on that you can remove to take out the whole bundle.
