Hello, I'm trying to install the new version of matplotlib-py26, but I get the following error about it trying to overwrite files that belong to dateutil:
Unpacking matplotlib-py26 (from .../matplotlib-py26_0.99.0-1_darwin- i386.deb) ... /sw/bin/dpkg: error processing /sw/fink/dists/unstable/main/binary- darwin-i386/sci/matplotlib-py26_0.99.0-1_darwin-i386.deb (--install): trying to overwrite `/sw/lib/python2.6/site-packages/dateutil/ __init__.py', which is also in package dateutil-py26 /sw/bin/dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe) Errors were encountered while processing: /sw/fink/dists/unstable/main/binary-darwin-i386/sci/matplotlib- py26_0.99.0-1_darwin-i386.deb ### execution of /sw/bin/dpkg-lockwait failed, exit code 1 Is this a packaging bug? I've tried removing dateutil but matplotlib- py26 depends on it. For the record, this is running on a macbook pro, 10.5.8: $ fink -V Package manager version: 0.29.9 Distribution version: selfupdate-rsync Wed Sep 16 13:14:46 2009, 10.5, i386 Also, if I want to request that a package is updated to the latest upstream version, where is the best place to send that request? I've tried contacting the maintainer listed on the page for the package, but I typically don't get a response. Should I file a bug in sourceforge? I'm particularly looking for updates to jed (fink: 0.99-16, upstream: 0.99-18) and gdl (fink: 0.9pre6, upstream: 0.9rc3).
