According to police reports quoted in the Star-Tribune, 27 or 28 out of the 30
homicides in Minneapolis so far this year are "gang" related. In Minneapolis,
gang makeup reflects the lower class population. Mostly black, some asian, and
few hispanic. Not a "study," but facts nevertheless.

I really wish we could get by "political correctness" regarding firearm misuse.
It is so clearly a social/cultural phenomenon and the only solution to any
"wave of violence" (like Chicago's) has to be social/cultural not technological
(gun bans, etc.). It really IS the person behind the gun, car, or whatever.

Oh, there is plenty of solid data that the overwhelming majority of
homicide and, a disproportionate share (often the majority) of many other
crimes is intraracial, and in large measure black-on-black. But I was looking
for data that the majority of gun violence is committed *by criminal gangs that
tend to be organized along ethnic minority lines*.
