Professor, I do not think a dozen qualifiers are necessary. But I won't object if you START with just one next time; I hate making the mistake I made and I'd like help avoiding it in the future. I've been using e-mail as long as most, and longer than many, actually, and I seldom make that kind of a misread. I will endeavor to assure it doesn't happen again.

As for sarcasm, yes, you're right, but that's why they created emoticons - I know I don't have to tell anyone here that even if they don't work as HTML the typed colon, dash, parentheses, or other symbols when put together can show sarcastic intent.

Or embarrassment - I think I owe you this one:  :-[
