Thanks, they're in. The u-bolts are nice and heavy duty but you have to cut a 
good amount of meat off the perches, thus weakening them. Probably not an area 
of the part that needs to withstand a lot of stress but it does make you 
think/worry about it a little.
 
Going to try and get the subframe back on this weekend.

you talking about the u bolts seeming to be a bit too spread out to fit into 
the newly drilled holes? If this is the case I took some large channel lock 
pliers and squeezed the bottom of the u bolt together till the holes lined up, 
then gently tapped the top of the u bolt with a sludge hammer. Surprisingly it 
did not mess up any of the threads on the u bolts, the hotchkis pieces are
