I have my 67 vert all tore down and on the rotisserie and was getting ready to
start ordering parts to put it back together. I was planning on getting
hotchkis springs, along with all new stuff underneath. One thing i was
considering was getting the springs to lower it front and rear. As i was
talking to a friend today that has rebuilt a *ahem* camaro, he suggested that i
rate the expense of the fancy springs unless i was going to race it. He said
instead to put my money into some good frame connectors and have the old
springs re-arched for a great ride in a driver.
So my multi part question is: what do you guys think/have experience with?
And, what do you think about the lowering, and what kind of issues should i
anticipate if i do lower it. I.m planning on using some 15" rally II wheels.
(At least i think they're 15s, the code is JA, which is supposedly 14, but they
measure 15 across and the currently are skinned with 15" rubber) along with a
disk break conversion, probably from master power.
i appreciate everyones input in advance.

Thanks, they're in. The u-bolts are nice and heavy duty but you have to cut a
good amount of meat off the perches, thus weakening them. Probably not an area
of the part that needs to withstand a lot of stress but it does make you
think/worry about it a little.

Going to try and get the subframe back on this weekend.

........................................................................> Are
you talking about the u bolts seeming to be a bit too spread out to fit into
the newly drilled holes? If this is the case I took some large channel lock
pliers and squeezed the bottom of the u bolt together till the holes lined up,
then gently tapped the top of the u bolt with a sludge hammer. Surprisingly it
did not mess up any of the threads on the u bolts, the hotchkis pieces are
nicely made. Good choice.> Derek,AZ>
