Hey Chris,

So I take it that your sub woofer box also doubles as a gray water tank (from the PVC pipe hanging on it) ? ;-)

Now my junk-in-the-trunk takes up everything forward of the trunk lid opening but yours ..... As it is when we go on overnight cruises (or longer) we have to put our suit cases on the back seat and I bought some black towels to drape over them but I can still put SOME stuff in the trunk (no spare though).

Looks real nice. Great job.

Bobby,
You don't need to go overboard to get good sound up front. I would
put the speakers you already purchased in the kick panels, and add
tweeters up top. You can mount the 3.5s in the stock locations in the
kick panels, or if you want to hide them better, you can mount them
behind the kick panel in the vent area. I put 6.5s in my vent area with
room to spare, but I had to disable the vent to do so. I didn't really
care about the vents, as the top is always down when I'm driving the car
anyway.

For the tweeters I made two panels out of 5/8" MDF that lie on top of
the dash and extend to the corner of the windshield, then I removed the
grill and mounting hardware from the tweeters and flush mounted them in
panels. I had already determined where they sounded best, and I made
the panel in a manner that I could put the tweeters in that spot. After
the tweeter is installed in the panel, I covered the panel with black
grill cloth to make them blend in. The panels are held into place by
pressure from being a tight fit, so no modifications to the dash are
necessary. The only people that have ever actually seen them without me
pointing them out have been people at stereo competitions. This can be
seen in two pictures in the third row from the bottom of this page
http://www.chrisandchristi.com/pp69convstereo.htm. Click on the small
pics to see a larger version.

Depending on the impedance of the 3.5s and tweeters you may need to run
the speakers in series rather than in parallel. That will also depend
on the impedance load your amp will handle. Your amp will have plenty
of power to push them, so this will not be a problem. Since you have
6x9's in the back, the majority of the sound will still be coming from
that location, but the addition of the highs in the front will
definitely help.
