I think it also depends on what the original color is. If the code is a sporty 
or popular color like Solar Red, that seems to add value or at least 
"sellability". If it's Maize or Verdero, you've just limited your pool of 
buyers. I've kept my eye out on e-bay for Maize 67's and 68's since I have an 
all original (unconfirmed but appears to be) basket case 67' 400 Maize FB that 
I may restore some day. I have been dissapointed to see that these cars either 
don't sell or bring about 1/2 to 2/3rd the price as a red FB.
 
BTW Paul, I think April Gold is a great color and if that was my original color 
I would've went with it as well.
