According to a recent article in HPP, if I remember it correctly, it's about 120-150 lbs lighter. It depends on the 301 because the later model 301 used in the Turbo T/A's had metal added back into the block casting to help strengthen the block when the turbo was added.
The weight difference would be similar to a 400 that you switched to aluminum heads, aluminum intake, and removed the A/C. I wouldn't touch the springs till you know for sure. Probably won't need it though.
