Sheen:
I measured my subframe from a '69 convertible. It has never been wrecked and
the subframe is out of the car.
At the very rear of the subframe, it measures exactly 30" from the two
innermost surfaces and 37 and 3/16" from the two outermost surfaces. The
crossmember holes are 30 and 1/4" from center to center.

I can't give you the details, but there are some points where the subframe can
be checked or aligned against the body with dowels or the shank of a drill bit.
I'm sure somebody on the list has the details. (I need to know too before I put
my subframe back on the body.)
David

My subframe is out of my car and propped up against my garage wall right
now. I'll measure the spread across the back and email that number this
evening.

Anyone ever had this problem? Can you squeeze the subframe together about
1/4" at the rearward ends? BTW, I looked at the rearward subframe mounts
and
they were off center, i.e. squeezing the subframe in a little would get
them
closer to center.

Thanks,
Sheen
