Thanks. I would need the bracket set up as well. 
 
I played with using nuts as spacers between the mounting block and head. 
They're about 3/8" and it brought them out to exactly where they need to be. 
Also, I put the same nut spacer in between the Alt and the Alt arm brackets so 
those would remain in their natural position, i.e. no bending. As expected the 
5 1/2" long bolt will need to be replaced with a 6" bolt. Not sure if HD or my 
local surplus store sells these but this would definitely be the cheapest and 
easiest fix. It doesn't look horrible but it doesn't look right either. I may 
use this set up just to break the engine in while I keep my eye out for a 
reasonable set of 71' to 75' Alt/PS bracket set up on e-bay, etc. If anyone has 
a set they don't need/want to sell, please let me know off the list.
