I tried with just the motor mounts installed and no motor. I finally had to
unbolt the lower halves of the mounts to get it in behind them. I can see how
it would be even harder with the engine and all that's bolted to it in the way
too. If you can to figure out a way to support the motor and just remove the
lower brackets, I'd give that a shot before pulling the whole thing. But then
again, I've gotten myself into more trouble by trying to take short cuts before.

Lots of luck!

It is a PITA but yes it can be done. If you have a hoist that is
definitely the way to go. I used 4 HD jack stands, lifted the car off
the ground as high as it would go and removed the wheels. That helped
quite a bit but it was still not a fun job. I bent my own brake and
fuel lines too while laying on my back so you can imagine the joy in
that..lol

Subject: [FGF] Replacing brake lines
Has anyone tried replacing the brake lines with the engine still
installed?
Can it be done?
