If there are any inclusions in the weld, these have flux inside.  The acid will 
continue eating the metal and cause a failure under your paint.  
 
The thing about spending $200 on a flux welder is it puts you $200 further away 
from buying what you really needed.  Plus it has no residual value, so it is 
$200 lost.
