Yeah, not the most obvious choice, but I didn't want to attach it to sheet metal, and all the vertical surfaces I could find on the frame left the filter hanging low enough to get hit by debris. This spot is protected, solid, and oil won't run all over stuff when I remove the filter. Plus, I don't have to move anything else out of the way first to change the filter.
