The Tremec conversion requires you to cut your driveshaft, i.e. it will be shorter than my TH400 stock one. Actually, I'm going with a new 3" thicker tube. So, using your arguement, it's even more important for me to get everything lined up. Sheen> > First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List> .........................................................................> I took a look at the dimensions of the TH400 compared to the other automatic options and it's about 5" longer as best I can tell without knowing the specific tailshafts used on each application. I would assume that it's even more then 5" longer then the manual transmission option. the longer the transmission, the shorter the driveshaft would be. the shorter the driveshaft, the greater the angle's at the ends of the driveshaft, assuming all the axle and engine centerlines are at the same angle for teh various options. So with the greater angle for the TH400 cars that extra angle might have created enough extra torsonal load to take care of the alleged vibration. That would be why only the TH400 cars has the in-phase yokes and the others had the slightly out of phase yokes.> _________________________________________________________________ News, entertainment and everything you care about at Live.com.
