I know that when I was shopping for the parts I found that the tie rod ends (either it was inner or outer, don't recall which) were different on the firebirds then on the camaros in 69. I'm wondering if the pontiac engine hangs lower and requires slightly different geometry for the linkage.

As I recall, the center link, end links, pitman arm and idler arm are different on manual cars and power steering cars. I remember converting my 69 coupe to manual (for 1/4 mile use) and that was the case but I don't recall which was which on the idler arm since it's been many years since I did the conversion.
