First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... I just finished putting my grill / bumper back together...
The only trick on the 1968 was that you need to be sure that you attach the lateral rubber fender fillers to each end of the bumper before bolting the bumper on (Otherwise, you will not be able to tighten those two carriage bolts...Yes, I learned the hard way and had to remove the bumper in order to do so!) The four lower grill support brackets can be inserted (blindly I might say) after you have all of the upper carriage bolts in place and the bumper is hanging. I don't have any pictures but don't sweat this procedure...it really goes together quite easily! I'm going to have to do the same reassembly on my 69. And I wasn't the one who took it apart!! If you do get all those photos together would you mind also sending them to me? ________________________________ From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> To: First Generation Firebird-L <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, April 16, 2009 7:20:53 PM Subject: Re: RE: [FGF] Grill and bumper help First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... Joel, Are your grills and bumper assembled and you need info on mounting it correctly, or do you have 100 pieces of puzzle to assemble & mount? Assuming that it would be pretty much like a '67 I have a bunch of pictures I took when I disassembled ours. It went back together alright, but it was pretty time consuming if I remember correctly. LMK if you would like the pics, I could round them up and email them to you this weekend. Maybe by looking at the pics I would remember the steps also...
