I haven't worked on the 'bird for a while, but I am getting ready to start up again. I have a problem that has gone unsolved for months. I bought a new passenger door shell and door latch. With the help of a couple of friends (believe me, it takes three people to install a door), I installed it on my car. We aligned the door fairly well. It's good enough to hand it over to the body shop anyway. When I closed the door it made the typical door-closing sound. Guess what? Door won't open. I use the internal door handle to actuate the door latch. Nothing. I use my finger to activate the door latch. Nothing. Short of removing the passenger fender to get at the door hinges, what can I do? Is there some magic release button I can hit? I appreciate any advice you can give me.
