Yes, the front and rear brackets are bolted in. The plates under the back  
seat which hold the bolts for the front brackets, along with the tabs on the 
 rear axle are the welded parts.

My  '67 400 car came with both bars. The only "common" parts, aside from 
the  
bolts and bumper pads, are the actual bars themselves. The plates welded  
to the  floor and the front and back brackets are  side-specific.

My   car was originally a 326. In addition to dropping in a 400, I have 
been 
on  the  search to find and add a factory drivers side traction bar. I  
bought one from  a guy that has some parts cars and had it shipped  down to 
me. 
My question  is this: the front bracket and panel that  welds onto the 
floor 
are both  mirrors of the right side. The rear  bracket, the one that bolts 
to the rear  axle is not a mirror, but an  exact copy. ie: the front part 
of 
the bracket  that holds the bumper  pad steps to the left, just like the 
right 
side bracket.  Is this  correct, or should it be a mirror as well.
