Just to clarify things, I was talking about FirebirdClient assembly
"installation". The only stuff developer should do, is to copy it to
some place. Adding to GAC must be done via gacutil in some way or
other.  If you have your path added to VS's search path for references
dialog, then only rewriting the assembly is enough. You don't need to
change anything.

But I can imagine, that instruction like "copy it to some place" can
cause questions "where is the some place?". :)

OTOH for DDEX it would be nice to have fully automated installation,
importing registry keys etc. No doubt.

Let's see what others will say.
