I assume that the intent of the two different buttons is that the console continues to accumulate messages while minimized, but not when closed. That's not immediately apparent to me.
A small bug appeared that I'm trying to nail down. I find that on the page that I frequently use firebug, when I close firebug, switch tabs and switch back, firebug re-opens itself. This is only a minor annoyance, because I use firebug all the time there, and minimize seems to stick. I can imagine that this turns into a major annoyance in other cases though. I'll note that I've used about:config to reset all of firebug's config to no avail. I haven't filed a report, because I can't reliably reproduce this, will do when I work it out.
