I agree with that! :-)
I'm not in the Cleveland Area, but the Security Team I'm coordinating
is conformed by Certified People with routing (Cisco), Operating
Systems (Solaris, NT) and Databases (Oracle, Informix). All we have
strong knowledge in other fields (crypto, programming and such
things), and certifications in security products, of course. :-)
Well, I have to say that my company is a service oriented one, so we
*need* to have people with excellent technical skills. Certification
doesn't override experience, but if you have both, then you win.
Remember, the average script kiddie has so much time to gain
experience. You need to compensate that with education. :-)
