I think this is pretty much what I said? :)

FTP would be such a case. Telnet is another one.
And, yes, "forward" was maybe a poor choice of words in this context, 
even though I said "the urgent signal" as opposed to "the URG flag" 
or "the URG-flagged packet". "Relay" would have been more appropriate.
