Looks like I can't email a mailing list properly. Whoops. [?] -- #Terin Stock Undergraduate, Computer Science (CISE), University of Florida

To: Laird Shaw <[email protected]> Yes, we can't point the domain at any other host, as it's still technically in Mike O'Connor's name. I can email the registrar, but I doubt that they'll be of much help. FWIW: If we had let the domain expire, IDK if we would have been able to snag it before some domain squatter got it. Our best bet of keeping that domain is exhausting ways of contacting them. I had to sound like "me, me, me and me", but I am mirroring the static content on the .com. As I am my own provider, I'm more than happy to support the community, and setup whatever we need. The downside? Unless we can get someone that can edit the page (or point the DNS at us), we lose the inbound links. Sorry if I jumped the gun in renewing the .org domain registration. :( -- #Terin Stock Undergraduate, Computer Science (CISE), University of Florida On Wed, Oct 13, 2010 at 1:04 AM, Laird Shaw <[email protected]> wrote: > On 13/10/10 15:31, Rob Farmer wrote: > > If (as I understand it) nobody can contact the current site's admin, > > wouldn't it be better to scrape the content, let it expire, and get > > new hosting which people who are active/interested have the passwords > > for?
