I have been following the lively and informative fjord digest for a few
months now, and thought I should take a moment to introduce myself and extend
a few overdue "thank yous".

I saw my first Fjord last year at the Nebraska Horse Expo. I had several
Quarter Horses and a TB hunter/jumper at the time, and frankly needed another
horse like another hole in my head. I thought maybe I could just learn more
about the breed, my curiousity would be satisfied and a purchase would not be
necessary. I talked to friends, Drs. Steve and Amy White. They were very
helpful and even took us on a drive with their wonderful Fjords. That was
the wrong thing to do. Curiousity became obsession, and after much research
we found ourselves on our way to Canada last September to purchase our lovely
Pjoska, from Lori Albrough.

Lori and Stefan are wonderful people.. Lori has become my e-mail pal,
listening patiently to my joys of Fjord ownership. She helped us locate
harness while we were in Canada, I bought a Doris Ganton book and video , and
we were in full-blown drive a Fjord mania . Ground driving that is, our cart
had not arrived yet.

While waiting for the arrival of our cart, I began checking out the NFHR
web-site again. This time I found Peg Knutsen in Ellensburg Washington. She
had the lovely Suki for sale, PREGNANT!!!! After several many emails and
conversations with this knowledgable Fjord breeder we bought our second
Fjord, with the third on the way. I must stop purchasing Fjords now, or
start a twelve step program to deal with this addiction.

My Christmas cart finally showed up 2 weeks ago, and fate sent me Steve
McIlree the same weekend. Steve lives in my area, heard I had a Fjord and
came to look at her. What a wonderful guy!! He gave us great insights,
advice and much humor, and graciously offered to attend the first hooking
of pony to cart. Today was the day. Thank goodness he was here. I wasnt
quite sure what to do with all those straps, but with his help we had a
splendid first cart ride with sweet Pjoska.

There!! In short, I really want to thank the Whites, Lori and Stefan, Peg
Knutsen and Steve McIlree for all their help and friendship. I am convinced
that Fjord people must truly be the nicest on earth, and look forward to
meeting many more of you in the future.
