haha jason,

mostly bitterness. but some ignorance as well.

as3 came out horray! it has a lot more power and potential. then guess
what! adobe makes a markup language that integrates with flash components
and makes this enterprise data friendly framework. the very reason i moved
to flash was to get away from markup, and those black boxes of my ui
components. that is the bitterness. my first thoughts years ago were 'you
guys make the language better and you decide to make a framework using
markup, what the hell.' my first attempts at using it i thought 'this is
the dumbest shit i've ever seen, i feel like i am in dreamweaver again, but
its eclipse instead! this blows'.

so ya, thats bitter. the ignorance comes from me not having an extensive
background with flex. i have never made my own components and i have never
published anything using flex for a real, paid project; i have only done
simple tutorial things. but still, have <script> tags inline with
presentation layer <mxml:bullshit> looks like html and javascript... i am
not sure exactly what the ignorance is here, but i know there is something.

i do admit, i did not need to tack on the 'useless' part. *yes, its
bloated, but it allowed for a lot of oversized, poorly performing data
heavy enterprisy applications that all seemed to live in a strange place on
the internet. it has done great things. *sarcasm please*

are there any Flex guys out there that hate HTML but love Flex? am i wrong
to ever use the words hate and love in regards to a 'language'? will i get
beaten up for that?
